In 2025, the job search landscape is changing fast with AI-powered platforms promising  to automate or simplify the repetitive and daunting process of applying to jobs, writing cover letters, and submitting applications at scale. For software engineers and tech professionals, these tools can save hours each week and open doors to more opportunities. One such platform leading a shift in the automated application industry is AIApply, an emerging job application automation tool.

What is AIApply

AI Apply is a job application automation platform that has been popular among today’s job seekers as it claims to help eliminate the repetitive process of applying for jobs. Instead of having to manually tailor your resume and cover letter for every role, the tool claims to  use AI to generate personalized application materials. With AI-Generated Resumes and Cover Letters to finding tailored job postings for your desired role, job searching has never been quicker and easier. For busy job seekers, especially software engineers, this means potentially applying to hundreds of roles per week with minimal manual effort. It almost seems too good to be true. So, does AIApply really deliver on its promises?

AI Apply Features

AI Apply features go beyond just generating application documents by offering a set of tools designed to simplify the entire job search process. With features such as automatic tailored job postings that align with the users’ interests, those who use AI Apply can focus on relevant opportunities that are gathered in one space. This platform also provides interview preparation support using AI to help the user understand what kind of question they may be asked for that specific job position.

Additional features include turning your LinkedIn profile into a working, ATS compliant  resume. Furthermore, the features you have access to can vary based on how much you pay.

AIApply Pricing Plans (as of 2025)

Plan Price Daily Applications Key Features AI Model
Starter $49/month or $12/week 40 jobs/day SmartAI job matching, 200 job suggestions, 1M+ job board access GPT-4o
Pro $99/month or $23/week 100 jobs/day Advanced AI matching, 500 job suggestions/day GPT-5
Pro+ $199/3 months or $16/week 100 jobs/day Unlimited job suggestions, long-term access GPT-5

Note: Many users have reported that some “auto-apply” features remain behind an additional paywall, even on premium plans.

Pros and Cons of AIApply

Similar to many other platforms, AIApply has many benefits and drawbacks. For many job seekers, especially for those applying to dozens of roles each week, the platform can significantly cut down time from the application process. Instead of manually tailoring each resume or cover letter, AI Apply generates them automatically, with reviews stating that it has cut down their application time more than half. On top of that, every document that AIApply creates is optimized for Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) which increases the chances of getting past automated filters and actually landing in front of a hiring manager.

Users also praise the platform’s intuitive design, with reviews saying that the interface is clean, intuitive, and noticeably easier to navigate compared to more traditional job search sites such as LinkedIn.

That said, AI Apply isn’t perfect. The free version has been confusing and limited, with many users feeling that core features are locked behind a paywall, such as their auto apply feature. However, even after some users purchased the premium version, there was an additional cost that they had to pay to unlock the auto apply feature. As a result, there is a lack of transparency, not clearly promoting the two levels of subscription which has left some customers feeling misled.

As shown above, on top of the pricing plans, you have to purchase the Application Kit Pro feature, which you would expect to have already come with your regular subscription.

Although it seems like you can create an account and gain access to their “free” features, it is extremely limiting, to the point where a user stated that they couldn’t even apply to a job.

The extent to which AIApply will help you with the free version is generating a cover letter. However, users have also commented that the generated resumes and cover letters are of low quality, and they could not edit the documents as it is saved as a pdf file. This lack of customization left many users in frustration.

As a free user, I was able to use AI Apply’s cover letter generator for a sample Marketing Intern position at S&B USA as shown above. At a first glance, it is evident that this is a generic cover letter which sounds like a template. There is minimal personalization to the company, besides the one sentence that describes why I am drawn to S&B USA. The use of “I am drawn to S&B USA’s commitment…” is very vague and general statements are used throughout the cover letter. The lack of personalization also does not communicate to the reader why I would be a good fit for the company.

Additionally, the interface of the website is not very intuitive. To upload your resume, you would expect that you would be able to do it in the resume tab; however, you need to go to your profile and update your base resume.

That said, we were only able to test out the free version of AI Apply, so we don’t have first-hand experience with paid features.

Is AI Apply Reliable?

Since we have limited perspective on the full services that AIApply offers, especially its paid features, we wanted to hear from other user experiences with the platform. In terms of AI Apply reviews, many users have commented on the deceptive pricing. One user on slashdot states, “avoid this company and tell everyone you know. It’s awful, they scam unemployed people the way they do” (Slashdot).

Additionally, there has been conversation on Reddit that AIApply is a scam and that the platform doesn’t “disclose that you need to pay $150 extra for it to actually apply for jobs” (Reddit).

Another user also noted that the cheapest tier which is $30 a month doesn’t include the “auto apply” feature, which is an additional $150 per month and also limits you to 150 applications (Reddit)

Besides Slashdot and Reddit, the majority of the discussion about AI Apply is on Trustpilot. While 64% of the reviews are 5 stars, there are over 100 1-star reviews. The majority of these reviews entail issues with customer service and pricing of AIApply’s plans.

Daniel Ramos states that there is non-existent customer support, and after he presented “clear evidence of [his] problems to [AIApply’s] support team, [he] received no response or solution” (trustpilot).

Joshua Okolisan also mentions that he had similar issues with “customer service being completely unresponsive” (trustpilot). There were also multiple people who were unsuccessful in demanding refunds.

Sheila Burch mentions that she “was denied a refund claiming it was in a billing cycle which [she] couldn’t access” (trustpilot).

The only form of communication that users are able to receive is through AIApply’s chatbot, where they were told that they were not qualified for a refund.

On the other hand, AIApply support seems to be active on Trustpilot. The company has responded to many of the negative (and positive) reviews, addressing concerns and also processing refunds.

Many users also expressed that AI Apply has been a helpful tool in their job search journey, allowing them to apply for jobs quickly and easily (trustpilot). At the end of the day, Trustpilot, Reddit, and Slashdot are not the most trustworthy channels, reflecting AI Apply’s true experience. Of course, depending on what you are looking for, your experience with AIApply may be completely different.

As a result, in our opinion, it is best to  approach AIApply with caution. Do not expect a perfect automation platform that will guarantee you interviews or even a position. Although there are many positive reviews, user trust and transparency remain concerns.

AI Apply vs. ApplyPass: The Best Alternative in 2025

As indicated by the reviews, AIApply is not the ideal job-search platform for many people, especially with all the unknown fees. This is where ApplyPass comes in, differentiating itself as a company from other competitors.

Rather than AIApply’s automated interview buddy, ApplyPass connects you with real career coaches with more than a decade of experience helping software engineers land and pass interviews, especially at the FAAANG, Fortune 500, and Magnificent 7 levels. However, what really makes ApplyPass stand out is its specialization in searching for software roles and its advanced filters, allowing you to find the perfect job listing for you.

AIApply’s lack of role-specific filters may be a drawback, especially when compared to ApplyPass as there is a  lack of technical keywords or content optimization in the auto-generated resumes and cover letters that are needed to stand out in the competitive software engineering market. With ApplyPass, you can filter for the exact position you are looking for, resulting in specific job postings that meet your experiences and desired position. You can also work with a human coach to optimize your resume and LinkedIn profiles, both for ATS and recruiters.

Is AIApply Worth It?

AIApply is advertised as a useful automation tool, and we were unable to unlock its full capabilities with its free version. However at a first glance, the limited free version has been confusing to navigate, and online reviews also mention concerns relating to customer service and transparency relating to pricing plans.

If volume and speed is a priority, ApplyPass is the best alternative. Along with accuracy, transparency, and expert support, ApplyPass will tailor to your individual needs. That said, let us know if you have given AIApply a try, and if your experience was different from ours!
